A strip of paper can't make you choke to death, but funny nevertheless.

Maybe the idea was that Dudley choked to death on the cookie before having a chance to look inside? Anyhow, if this is funny (beyond the rare death of choking on a FC) then I don't get it.

The Idea was originally that he choked over the scrap of paper. Sorry for the misleading gravestone text

#4 Anonymous Sun, 16 Aug 2015 19:29:42
Yeah, "food" = scrap of paper is something of a stretch. (Meanwhile this comment and #2 both required me to answer "What symbol represents a grave?")

#5 Anonymous Sun, 16 Aug 2015 21:40:51
Well, a scrap of paper is edible...

Not in Nethack, unless there's been some new diet patch beyond what's described in nethackwiki.com/wiki/Diet . What player classes or monsters should be papyrivores?

Maybe I decided to have the gravestone text "choked over food" because that text actually exists in NetHack (or perhaps I just forgot to change it)

Anon #6 asks: "What player classes or monsters should be papyrivores?"

Maybe we need a new monster for this: the bookworm! Does little damage in melee but eats scrolls and spellbooks that it finds before you, or maybe tries to steal them from your open inventory and eat them. Of course the Book of the Dead must be immune, and probably also Scare Monster.

Well, there is already a hallucinatory monster called the "bookworm", so if only the Wizard was deprived of one of his 87 scrolls of genocide... https://alt.org/nethack/dudley/?726

Well, a gelatinous cube already can eat items, but the bookworm is still an interesting idea...

Oops, didn't mean to submit this a second time; can such duplicate posts by "anonymous" users be removed?

#14 Belarian Tue, 18 Aug 2015 18:45:44
I cannot remove duplicate posts even logged in... That #8 was originally a duplicate of #7 but I changed the text so it just says "M".

It seems that Opera Browser caused it.

#16 Anonymous Wed, 19 Aug 2015 02:17:27
The way I read it, there was no scrap of paper, meaning it was solid and completely filled in with cookie-ness, making it bigger.

#17 Anonymous Wed, 19 Aug 2015 21:13:50
It'd be hard to choke on a single cookie, don't you think. Then again, anything is possible in DD.

Maybe he is too full with those KFKs and McDownloads...

Maybe, He has no future, so the fortune cokkie is empty. HE has no future because he is dead!
