Floating eyes have telepaty. And they can read.

So if a monster read a cursed scroll of genocide and chose to genocide humans, would Dudley be "sent in" to the monster?

#2 SmashFan2005 Tue, 30 Jun 2009 01:57:17
LOL! good one.

Zarpheek rocks :). Maybe "Someone reads a scroll. Someone is cursing (being surrounded by soldiers)". Dudley would be fine of course... he is a demigod after all.

Only gets a fair from me for choosing a monster that can't speak--that little impossibility killed the joke.

I mean, yes, it'd be humorous to see a method for a floating eye to kill Dudley on its own, but this isn't it.

C'mon! Most of the (good) jokes include at least a little impossible-in-real-nh. Being pushed back to ingame messages (remember to not use explicitely speaking/thinking characters!) constrains the real dd artist.

@Thvor

Yes, but they can project the words from their mind using telepathy..=) You must think.. lol.

Hmm...I need to get some more ideas of how to get some more custom tombstone messages.

Any suggestions, people?

Ok, Thvor, but the other choice was a mind flayer and... they can kill pretty much on their own.
And I'm not so sure that a scroll -must- be spelled loudly to work...

I just tested it in wizmode, and if you polymorph into a floating eye, you can still read a scroll. So.

I'm joking. Do what you want.

The floating eye has now replaced Medusa.

This could be done in a way that added to the game, I think. In addition to solving a minor logical inconsistency, it would make players treat scrolls of genocide like the dangerous weapons they are. But you'd have to be careful... and tightly control the creation of those scrolls, to avoid making the game more unfair than Syobon Action.

G, +1 for the first panel (it's an old joke, but a good one).

Er, -1 for calling Dogley "Doggy".

Killed by Gnome with scroll of genocide?

They can run shellscripts(scrolls). But luckily their CPU(brain) is too dumb to compile(learn) those source codes(spellbooks).
