As does everybody else. I bet the DevTeam created the Tourist role for people who thought NetHack was too easy.
I don't suck as much at Tourist as I do at Healer. The camera is nice in the early game, for folks like me who don't like standing around on E-squares. Also, I really suck at Healer. How do you kill anything with that scalpel?
Healer is tough until you get the quest artifact. The Staff is awesome though. Actually Healer was one of my favorite classes to ascend. I think Tourist is a little tougher, but again, becomes much easier if you can get the quest artifact.
acheron: I've never got anywhere near the quest with a Healer. The Tourist quest is nice because, not only is the quest artifact awesome, you can get a lot of goodies from the general stores, and the nemesis is a pushover (unlike the Healer nemesis, or so I hear). Though a soldier with a wand of death would've taken care of me if I hadn't scored a lucky wish.
