And for those who don't get it, unless I'm mistaken, the idea is that the winter wolf shot through the energy vortex, heating its beam and making it harmless.
The fog clouds and traps form the symbol for a resistor on an electrical diagram.
Dudley gained cold resistance.
The bit about the energy vortex is also a (somewhat flawed, I know) reference to resistance.
No offense intended, hindsight is always 20/20.
