Give.Him.The.D just refers to the d in systemd as far as I am aware.
In case you didn't know (speaking to Anonymous and anyone else who's confused here), on Linux systems when you're actually playing a game in a terminal, kernel messages can directly intrude into your screen like that. It's really quite annoying.
Appearently, Lennart thought TTYs are not important and cause major troubles.
