Should SLASH'EM be on NAO?
SmashFan2005 - December 11, 2009 03:17AM

I've been thinking about this for a while. We already have SporkHack so wouldn't it be possible to have other NetHack variants on NAO? primarily SLASH'EM. I want to ascend on SLASH'EM, but my version is buggy.

I think it would be nice to play SLASH'EM on NAO. Some people play roguelikes online because they don't want to download anything. Adding SLASH'EM would make more people visit NAO, more people would play SLASH'EM, and the NetHack community would be larger. Larger community = more fun! :-D

I haven't played S'EM myself, apart from few quickly ended games, so I don't really know about it's bugginess. If it's buggy enough to require constant babysitting, that certainly counts against it...

It could just be that the version I downloaded isn't compatible with my older computer. The bugs are minor. Hilight pet doesn't work, can't use #force on containers and black objects show up w/out color(so they're white)

As I said, it may just be my version/computer. I've played SLASH'EM on another server before, and these bugs were not present.
