I've half a mind to write a patch to make this happen. Make it a small chance, around 1% and perhaps influenced by constitution. But what should be the corresponding positive effect?

Implemented in Slash'EM Extended now, along with many other "diseases". There are also certain tools that prevent the foocubus from contracting a disease, if the player was diligent enough to wear it first.
