My only quibble is with "Goblin hits.", which needs an article ("The goblin hits.").

#2 Sorceror Fri, 21 May 2010 05:19:32
I'm clearly missing something here.

Likewise.

#4 progo Fri, 21 May 2010 07:16:50
The book "Dungeons of Doom for Dummies" clearly outbeats Dudley's intelligence, hence he freezes.

Or the book could be cursed, but where's the fun in that.

The book is meant to introduce you to the Dungeons of Doom.

It just does so the hard way.

xolroc: The footnote makes it clear that progo's interpretation is correct.

@DrSunglass: Possibly Dudley named the goblin "Goblin".

WHY???!?!?!?!?!!?

Since no one figure it out after two and a half years: the book is uncursed, we know this because Dudley can detect blessed status of the items (from first pane). He's a priest. So the book exceeds his intelligence.

A pun on "for Dummies".
