Didn't get it.

I think the blue & placed a scroll, which Dudley picked up, which then immediately set on fire.

Dudley shouldn't have a scroll on the display if it was dropped outside of his view.

#4 xCheckPoint Tue, 10 Nov 2009 08:34:20
Given the setup he must have already walked over it to get where he is now.

#5 Slandor Tue, 10 Nov 2009 19:45:19
He could've arrived in the room via trap door, teleport, or levelporter, which would actually make sense given his first line of dialogue.

#6 xCheckPoint Tue, 10 Nov 2009 21:33:10
But that wouldn't explain that the corridor is mapped, too. Anyway - what's up with paxed? I uploaded a strip which isn't scheduled yet (okay, it may be bad), and RawrMage had 4 days now. Anyone else uploaded sth?

Btw, very unusual, extreme votings for this strip. Like it or hate it.

I think the comic is from omniscient-view rather than Dudley's-eye view.

I just submitted a comic. Apparently we are in need of some more.

@ Factorial: So did I.. it kinda sucks though.

Considering the current 45154 I think we have a few of the "set up a mirror image" jokers at work again :)

45354. Voted F for symmetry.

Also note, cursor is in a very interesting position indicating a fly-on-the-corner-of-the-wall perspective.

@sorceror: it's obviously a bug! grin

@Orl: yes, occasionally...

The trap daemon is a riff on the mail daemon. He delivered a scroll of fire to Dudley. The scroll in the corridor provides the context that Dudley, at this point in his career, was smart enough to not read random scrolls found lying on the ground. This makes the punchline even better since he had to override this wisdom to read a scroll handed to him by a self identified "trap daemon".
