Despite my best attempts to get the joke... I don't. It's just so... random. According to your NAO files... your not the best wizard. I'm not sure what caused the noise to scare the kitten/kobold mutant thingy and thus kill Dudley.. err.. you. And on top of that... who is the light blue humanoid? there are none of those in vanilla NetHack. Overall.. this comic makes absolutely no sense and didn't even make me smirk a little bit. I believe the idea is: the adventurer was so full of himself that, when somebody gave him a pet "kitten/kobold mutant thingy" to help him in the dungeon, he started yelling (to explain how he is great and doesn't need the pet), which scared the "kitten/kobold mutant thingy" and caused it to turn against the adventurer, causing his demise (So, simple weak "kitten/kobold mutant thingy" kills the great wizard). I get it. It should have been Dudley, not eaglewing; and it would have been clearer with a line like "Do you know who I am? I have been heralded from birth as the instrument of Thoth!". Oh, and there's a standard outside-the-dungeons scene that's been established in Dudley's Dungeon; then it would really have been clear. But otherwise it's basically Good. The grass under the tombstone is in the wrong order! (Not really, but everything else has been objected to in this comic.) That said, the idea of a kitten/kobold mutant is amuzing. Kitten/kobold-mummy mutant perhaps?
