This was based off of an experience that I had on my last ascension. The RNG made a cockatrice statue.. so I burned "LOL WUT?" next to it. Then this random thought popped into my head...

Unfortunately, DD comics based on real game experiences are invariably awful.

Well, this isn't too bad for a "true story" comic, the idea of finding a cockatrice statue is interesting. I think the extra details just detract a bit in the middle. Dudley could just find the normal statue of a player (no wand of fire needed), then see there's also a statue of a cockatrice and give the LOL WUT reaction himself. His reaction then prompts him to look closer at the statue...

I disagree with Sorceror. It'd have been nice to have the player be a tourist, though -- that could explain where Medusa's picture came from. And hey, someone might decide to carve a statue of a cockatrice for some reason. Coincidentally, I just discovered that treasure zoo + hallucination + cockatrice corpse = INSANITY.

You can get a cockatrice statue from polymorphing.
