Do you guys actually use the stinking cloud scroll, and what's the strategy? Personally, I usually don't seem to have it at hand in those rare situations that call for it.

I think that's a pretty clever YANI, and "Better bad strip than no strip". Fair my side.

TJR: Yeah, I use stinking cloud scrolls. My method is generally A) zap a wand of cancellation at it B) write "enchant armor" on it with a magic marker.

My strategy is different -- it involves a fountain and "gold detection." (Well, sometimes.) Actually, I hear that they can be good for taking out priests if you want to convert an altar. And they might be good for the SokoZoo or barracks or the castle. Never actually used one outside of wizmode though.

A few years too late, but I've used stinking cloud to great effect in Fort Ludios's throne room.

Even more years late, but you can kill a shopkeeper with one if you're careful.
